Shavkat Mirziyoyev lays flowers at the statue of Islam Karimov, pays tribute to his memory

Shavkat Mirziyoyev and members of the government paid tribute to the memory of the first president at the memorial complex named after Islam Karimov.

In accordance with the decision of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, September 2, the day of Islam Karimov’s death, is marked as Remembrance Day.

Today, Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Islam Karimov Scientific and Educational Memorial Complex. He laid a wreath at the statue of the first president and paid tribute to his memory.

The Holy Quran was recited at the complex.

The ceremony was also attended by representatives of the Senate and the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis, the presidential administration, the Cabinet of Ministers, ministries and departments, and the capital’s residents.

Flowers were also laid at the statues of Islam Karimov in Samarkand and Karshi.
