The Tax Committee announced the list of the top 20 taxpayers who paid the most taxes in January-August 2024.
It shows that the taxes paid by energy companies fell sharply in August. Economist Otabek Bakirov drew attention to this.
Some time ago, Uztransgaz, the largest taxpayer of Uzbekistan, paid only 33.2 billion UZS in taxes in August. This is 2.43 times less than in July.
Also, UzGasTrade reduced tax revenues by 2.1 times in August compared to July.
Uzbekneftegaz, which was the third taxpayer after NMMC and AMMC at the beginning of the year, has now fallen from the top 5. Uzbekneftgaz reduced tax revenues by 1.62 times last month. At Hududgaztaminot, tax revenues decreased by 2.1 billion UZS.
"In general, the tax revenues of the above 4 energy companies decreased from 1,144.8 billion UZS in July to 737.6 billion UZS, i.e. 407.2 billion UZS. In order for you to imagine the size of the reduction in just one month, it was possible to build 21 schools with 660 seats for 407.2 billion UZS," the economist said.
Earlier, Kun.uz wrote that according to the results of 7 months, large energy enterprises have sharply reduced their tax payments. In particular, in January-July, tax revenues decreased by 24% at Uzbekneftgaz, 42% at the Bukhara Oil Plant, 2.2 times at Thermal Electric Stations, 3.2 times at Uz-Kor Gas Chemical, and 2 times at the GTL plant.
