FIFA Futsal rankings: Uzbekistan drops from 11th to 21st spot following World Cup performance
Uzbekistan’s national futsal team has fallen 10 positions in the latest FIFA rankings, following their performance at the 2024 Futsal World Cup. The team, led by head coach José Venancio López, dropped from 11th to 21st place, making it the largest decline among the top 30 teams.

Despite the significant drop, Uzbekistan remains ranked 4th in Asia, trailing behind Iran (6th), Thailand (11th), and Japan (13th). Globally, Brazil tops the rankings after winning the championship, followed by Portugal and Argentina. Spain slipped to 4th place, while Kazakhstan moved up three spots to break into the top five.

Uzbekistan’s futsal team faced tough competition at the 2024 World Cup, drawing with the Netherlands in Group A, but suffering defeats against Paraguay and Costa Rica. These results led to Uzbekistan finishing last in their group, contributing to their steep fall in the rankings.
