Navoi café faces lawsuit over absence of menu in state language
The Competition Committee has issued an administrative protocol against the owner of a café in Navoi after identifying multiple violations, according to the agency's press service.
The regional department of the supervisory authority conducted an inspection following a complaint from E. N., who reported a violation of consumer rights by the establishment owned by Navoiy-Saxovat Manzili.
During the inspection, officials discovered that the café lacked visible information for visitors, including its name, taxpayer identification number (TIN), and a QR code for verifying company details. Additionally, there was no information about the establishment’s operating hours or the prices of its dishes.
Furthermore, the café did not provide a printed menu in the state language, a requirement under the regulations governing the production and sale of public catering services, which have been in effect since 2003.
A special commission initiated a case against the establishment for violating the Law on Consumer Rights Protection and public catering regulations. Authorities issued an order requiring the café to correct the violations and ensure compliance in the future.
An administrative protocol was drawn up against the responsible company official, and the Committee has referred the case to judicial authorities for review.
