Uzenergosotish signs $254 million green energy deal with Uzbekhydroenergo
A deal between the two parties was signed on April 10. Since the beginning of 2025, hydroelectric power plants have generated over 2 billion kWh of electricity.

Uzenergosotish has signed an agreement with Uzbekhydroenergo to purchase electricity, according to a material event published on the Unified Corporate Information Portal (UCIP).
According to the UCIP, the Supervisory Board of Uzenergosotish approved the signing of the contract on November 29, 2024. The bilateral deal for the purchase of “green” electricity was finalized on April 10.
The value of the deal exceeds 3.3 trillion UZS (equivalent to $254.45 million based on the Central Bank's exchange rate at the time of signing).
Last week, the Ministry of Energy reported that hydroelectric power plants had generated more than 1.7 billion kWh of electricity since the beginning of 2025. The total green energy output surpassed 3.7 billion kWh, with 2 billion kWh coming from solar and wind power plants.
According to a presidential decree issued on March 28 (PP-129), a total of 2,983 micro-hydropower plants with a combined capacity of 164 MW and an annual generation of 500 million kWh are planned to be built during 2025–2026. The launch of these new micro-HPPs is expected to provide electricity to 280,000 people.
