According to Amanniyazova, most of the newly created jobs have been in the agriculture, construction, and service sectors, as well as among the self-employed.
“As of this year to date, 1.1 million new jobs have been created across the country. Job reporting is carried out as follows: Let’s say a company hires 10 people. The employer registers employment contracts in the Unified National Labor System. By the 15th of the following month, the employer submits a report confirming the payment of income and social taxes for these employees. Based on tax reports, the positions are officially confirmed as newly created jobs. The yangiish.mehnat.uz system is integrated with the tax authority’s database, meaning the reporting process is automated and free from human interference,” the inspectorate representative explained.
The Labor Inspectorate, according to the official, is also working to formalize the employment of workers operating in the informal economy.
“Since February 2025, labor inspectors have formalized the employment status of 22,900 informal workers across the country. The formalization has mostly occurred in construction, manufacturing, food services, and other service sectors,” said Amanniyazova.
Inspectorate officials are said to be informing business owners about the negative consequences of employing workers illegally. Employees whose work has been formalized are now monitored through a special program to ensure they do not revert to unofficial employment.
