According to a representative of the Iranian Embassy, Uzbek citizens are currently permitted to travel to Iran twice a year for up to two weeks without a visa. However, Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry clarified to Kun.uz that, under official agreements, Uzbek nationals are allowed to stay in Iran for a visa-free period of only 10 days.

“Uzbek citizens may enter Iran without a visa for a period of up to 10 days. Iranian nationals, on the other hand, are required to obtain an electronic visa to enter Uzbekistan,” said Ahror Burkhanov, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Hossein Parvaresh, Chargé d'affaires at the Iranian Embassy, stated that after the introduction of visa-free access for Uzbeks to Iran, the number of travelers increased significantly. Due to high demand for Tehran–Tashkent flights, tickets are often sold out quickly.

Medical tourism is also developing between the two countries. According to the Iranian Embassy, discussions are underway to improve access and facilities for Uzbek patients seeking treatment in Iranian healthcare institutions.

Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry noted that the country is engaged in negotiations on visa-free travel with many nations. However, the Ministry emphasized that its primary focus remains on ensuring visa-free access for Uzbek citizens to foreign countries.
