The Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ) has launched a large-scale project in Uzbekistan and plans to supply the country with over 3,000 tractors and tractor kits by the end of 2025, according to Belarusian news agency Belta, citing the press service of MTZ Holding.

As part of the project, a joint assembly facility for agricultural machinery has been established in Nurafshon, where BELARUS-brand tractors with capacities ranging from 80 to 212 horsepower will be produced.

“This year, we launched a major initiative in Uzbekistan. A joint tractor assembly plant has been established in the city of Nurafshon, and the first shipments of tractor kits to Uzbekistan have already begun,” said MTZ representative Mikhail Vardugin.

MTZ currently operates seven BELARUS tractor assembly plants in the CIS region—three in Kazakhstan and one each in Russia, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, and now Uzbekistan.

Back in February 2024, it was announced that MTZ would set up a tractor assembly facility in Uzbekistan. As part of this initiative, MTZ and Planeta Servis signed licensing agreements for organizing the production of BELARUS agricultural machinery. There are also plans to localize full-scale tractor production within Uzbekistan in the near future.

In 2023, the import of Belarusian tractors to Uzbekistan increased 1.6 times compared to the previous year. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that half of all tractors currently used in Uzbekistan are made in Belarus.

Additionally, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko proposed opening a unified service center in Tashkent or another Uzbek city to provide maintenance for products from BelAZ, MAZ, and MTZ under one roof.
