Namangan region to develop riverside tourism hubs with eco zones and water park

Tourist infrastructure will be developed along the riversides in Namangan region, with a major project planned near the Naryn River. A 20-hectare riverside area in Uychi district will be transformed into a tourist promenade featuring residential buildings, restaurants, and a water park. Additionally, eco-tourism zones will be established along the Syr Darya River in three other districts.

According to the press service of the Namangan regional administration, the riverside development project will be located near the cascade of hydroelectric power stations on the Naryn River in Uychi district.

The project, presented to the regional governor Shavkatjon Abdurazzakov, includes the construction of multi-storey residential buildings, a sports ground, a recreation area, a swimming pool, and a campsite.

“The proximity of the Naryn River and five major canals, located just 12 km from Uchkorgon district, combined with the scenic landscape and crystal-clear cool waters, offers enormous potential for developing all types of tourism in the region,” the regional administration said in a statement.

A larger 30-hectare tourist complex will include a water park, capsule-style accommodations, amusement rides, a flower garden, amphitheater, wellness trails, restaurants, and a walking area with bridges.

Meanwhile, eco-tourism zones and fish farming facilities will be developed in the Namangan, Mingbulok, and Turakorgon districts along the Syr Darya River. Each of these projects is estimated to cost between UZS 10–15 billion.
