Otabek Vallomov sentenced to 6.5 years for assault at Fergana gaming club

A court in Fergana has sentenced Otabek Vallomov to 6.5 years in prison for organizing mass disorder at a computer club. Five other young men were also convicted in the same case and handed prison sentences. Vallomov, said to be the son of a well-known entrepreneur, was previously reported to have assaulted civilians and claimed he could "buy the club if needed."

The final verdict in the “Vallomov case” was announced recently. Kun.uz has reviewed the court documents.

A total of six men were charged in the case:

  • Otabek Vallomov, 27
  • Muhammadaziz Ghulomjonov, 27
  • Muhammad Qodirov, 28
  • Nazirjon Mahmudjonov, 26
  • Muhammadali Omonullayev, 24
  • Khojiakbarhon Mamajonov, 26

According to the verdict, on February 21, 2025, at around 17:40, Vallomov and the other defendants entered the “Verona” computer gaming club in Fergana city as a group. During gameplay, they shouted loudly, disturbing public order and other customers.

When the club administrator, F. Khudoynazarov, asked them to calm down and stop yelling, the defendants started a fight. They physically assaulted Khudoynazarov and then another employee, F. Musaev. They also attacked M. Suyarqulov, another club employee who had tried to inform the authorities. Suyarqulov was beaten without cause and suffered serious injuries before the assailants fled the scene.

In court, Vallomov partially admitted guilt. He claimed he had hit Khudoynazarov because the latter had insulted his mother.

“We used to go to Verona regularly. One person would pay, and the staff would turn on the computers. They were always welcoming and friendly. We had no problems with them.

“During gameplay, we’d wear headphones and get immersed. We talked loudly, but no one had ever complained.

“On the day of the incident, we greeted Khudoynazarov, who was at the cash desk, but he didn’t respond. I paid for the game and asked him to turn on the computers. He rudely told us everyone had to pay separately. I was surprised by his behavior.

“We started playing in two teams. After about 10–15 minutes, we got into the game and raised our voices. Then I saw Khudoynazarov yelling obscenities at us. I ignored him and kept playing. A few minutes later, he came over and said, ‘I’m talking to you,’ and threatened to shut off the computer. I told him this wasn’t a library and we were allowed to speak loudly.

“He then insulted my mother. I couldn’t tolerate it and punched him. Suyarqulov also swore and lunged at me, so I slapped him too,” Vallomov said in his statement.

He asked for leniency, stating that he was a businessman employing over 100 workers and that he regretted his actions.

The other defendants gave similar testimonies.

However, victim F. Khudoynazarov testified in court that he never insulted Vallomov or his mother.

“It’s our policy to warn clients when they shout in the club. On that day, other customers complained about the noise. That’s why I approached the group. The defendants falsely claimed I used profanity. I had to stay in the hospital for three days due to the injuries I sustained,” he said.

The victims told the court that the material and moral damages had been compensated, and they had no further claims against the defendants.

The court found the defendants guilty under:

  • Article 277, Part 3 (hooliganism)
  • Article 104, Part 2 (intentional grievous bodily harm), clauses B, E, and K of the Criminal Code

Otabek Vallomov was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison. Muhammadaziz Gulomjonov, Muhammad Qodirov, Nazirjon Mahmudjonov, Muhammadali Omonullayev, and Khojiakbarhon Mamajonov were each sentenced to 5.5 years.

On July 14, 2025, the Fergana Regional Criminal Court of Appeals upheld the initial verdict without changes.

In February, Kun.uz had reported that Vallomov and his associates had assaulted employees of a computer club. During the altercation, the man identified himself as “Otabek Vallomov” and shouted that he could buy the entire club if he wanted. He also told the staff to “bring whoever you want.”

Otabek Vallomov is the son of prominent Fergana businessman Bakhtiyor Vallomov, who was awarded the honorary title of “Honored Builder of the Republic of Uzbekistan” in 2018 while serving as deputy director of the Faiz-Binokor Oltiariq company in Margilan.
