Tax revenue in Uzbekistan rises by 20%, tops UZS 102 trillion in H1 2025

Uzbekistan’s tax revenues increased by 20% in the first half of 2025, reaching UZS 102.6 trillion, according to the State Tax Committee. This marks a growth of UZS 16.8 trillion compared to the same period last year.

The strongest growth was recorded in collections from value-added tax (VAT) and subsoil use tax. Tax inspections contributed significantly to the increase, with collections rising by 26.8%, while regional tax authorities posted a 25.4% increase. The Interregional Tax Inspectorate for Large Taxpayers collected UZS 56.4 trillion in revenue – up 15% year-on-year.

Tashkent led all regions in tax revenue growth, with a 31% increase and total contributions of UZS 17.6 trillion. The top five also included Syrdarya (+28%), Namangan (+26%), Tashkent region (+26%), and Andijan (+25%).

Regions with the lowest growth were Jizzakh (+16.5%), Karakalpakstan (+16.9%), and Khorezm (+18.8%). Combined, these three regions contributed less than UZS 5 trillion in tax revenue.

By category, corporate income tax brought in the most revenue – UZS 22.5 trillion – representing a 17.5% increase. It was followed by VAT (UZS 21.4 trillion, +20.3%) and personal income tax (UZS 19.9 trillion, +17.5%).

The highest growth rate was seen in the subsoil use tax, which rose by 23.4% to UZS 10.3 trillion.

Other tax revenues collected in the first half of 2025 included:

  • Excise tax – UZS 9.3 trillion (+15.6%)
  • Land tax – UZS 4.8 trillion (+18.4%)
  • Property tax – UZS 4.1 trillion (+16.4%)
  • Turnover tax – UZS 1.6 trillion (+14.8%)
  • Water resource use tax – UZS 0.5 trillion (+7.2%)
