According to the press service of the Tashkent city administration, construction at 59 sites in various districts of the city has been completely halted following the discovery of regulatory violations.

In recent months, authorities have uncovered numerous cases of developers breaching construction norms and legislation. Some began construction without the necessary permits, expert assessments, or technical approvals, and in certain cases attempted to sell residential properties illegally.

“As a result, some of our citizens, having trusted unscrupulous companies, lose their savings and are left without housing. The Tashkent city administration, together with the relevant authorities, is taking a firm and uncompromising stance on the issue. In several districts, construction has been fully stopped at 59 sites lacking complete documentation, and these sites have been disconnected from the power supply,” the statement reads.

Monitoring and inspections at construction sites are ongoing, and legal measures will be taken for every confirmed violation.

The administration has also issued a number of recommendations for citizens planning to purchase property:

  • Always request and carefully examine the original documents for the property, including cadastral records, expert and advisory conclusions, and technical inspection reports;
  • Avoid making payments in cash or through unofficial channels, and read every clause of the contract thoroughly;
  • If there is any doubt about the legality of a developer or a construction project, or if a company delays providing documents, consult the official chatbot of the Tashkent administration for verified information.

“Before launching any construction or commercial activity, ensure that all required documents are in place. The Tashkent city administration will respond firmly and without compromise to any violations of construction regulations or actions that harm citizens’ interests,” the statement to developers and entrepreneurs concluded.
