Fergana prosecutor’s office employee dies after nose surgery at private clinic
An employee of the Fergana Regional Department of the Economic Crimes Investigation Department under the General Prosecutor’s Office has died at a private clinic in the city of Fergana. According to the deceased’s relatives, the doctors who performed the surgery fled the scene after the patient passed away. However, the doctor involved has denied fleeing.

Muhammadjon Khusainov, a 33-year-old patient, entered a private clinic in Fergana city for a nose surgery and did not come out alive. His wife reported the incident to Daryo.uz.
According to Khonzodabegim Khusainova, her husband Muhammadjon underwent surgery at 6:00 p.m. on April 10 and was declared dead at 10:30 p.m.
“Before the operation, he received two injections in his side. They did an X-ray and told him everything looked good – he was healthy. He walked into the operating room on his own,” said the deceased's wife.
She said she left the clinic briefly to take their children home, and during that time, at around 8:00 p.m., she received a call from the clinic informing her that her husband was being moved to the recovery room.
“I arrived at the clinic around 8:20 p.m. There were no doctors or nurses in sight. Everything was quiet, and we waited. After 10:00 p.m., I asked again. They had locked and sealed off the resuscitation room. They told us to call the men. When we finally forced our way in, my husband was already dead, wrapped up,” Khonzodabegim Khusainova recounted.
According to the family, the doctors fled the scene after the patient died.
“The operation was performed by a doctor named Bahodir Quchqorov. He works at the regional hospital. Initially, we went to the state hospital, but the doctor said he doesn’t operate there, so we went to the private clinic instead. After my husband died, the doctor hid in the clinic’s basement. My father-in-law and I couldn’t find them. Even the elevators in the clinic had been shut down,” the grieving wife reported.
Doctor Bahodir Quchqorov denied that he fled after the operation. He explained that the reason the surgery was not performed in the public hospital was because the Regional Multidisciplinary Children's Hospital only treats patients under 18.
“The surgery to correct the deviated nasal septum went smoothly. After the operation, I handed the patient over to the anesthesiologist and left. I did not flee. The death occurred approximately 15–20 minutes after I had completed the surgery and left. The procedure was conducted without any complications, and there was no bleeding,” said the doctor.
Quchqorov also noted that an operation scheduled to take 15 minutes could last an hour, or vice versa – it depends on the situation.
It has been revealed that Bahodir Quchqorov, who heads the ENT (ear, nose, and throat) department at the regional hospital, has been working at the private “Doctor-A” clinic for the past two to three months. The clinic itself has been operational for about the same amount of time.
“I perform around 500 such surgeries a year. I’ve been doing this for ten years. I’ve completed about 5,000 to 6,000 similar procedures. I did my job completely and without error. Once the operation was over, I handed the patient over to the anesthesiologist,” the doctor emphasized.
The press service of the General Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that the deceased, who died following surgery on April 10, 2025, was an employee of the regional department of the Economic Crimes Investigation Department. It also announced that a pre-investigation inquiry is currently underway by the Fergana Regional Prosecutor’s Office and that a legal decision will be made based on the results of the investigation.
