“As the economy grows and the pace of life accelerates, demand for transportation services will continue to rise. By 2030, the number of air passengers arriving in Tashkent is expected to reach 15 million. However, the current airport does not have the capacity to handle such traffic. Since it is located within the city, there is no room for expansion.

“Therefore, it has been decided to build a new international airport in Tashkent region. At present, proposals from foreign companies under public–private partnership models are under review,” the presidential press service said in a statement.

During the presentation, officials gave a detailed update on all aspects of this major project.

In recent years, significant funds have been allocated to road infrastructure, with new facilities being constructed. To improve road traffic, alternative road routes are also being planned. In this context, a new edition of the law “On automobile roads” has been developed to create a more attractive environment for investors.

Based on these efforts, several international companies have expressed interest in the project to build an alternative high-speed road between Tashkent and Samarkand.

Officials also reported on the outcomes of negotiations and proposals put forward by these companies.

The head of state emphasized the need to carefully design these strategic infrastructure projects and move quickly to the implementation stage.
